As the year presses on, Create Change is urging all Ambassadors to take the lead with their projects, and take initiative to raise funds to meet project goals. The holidays can be a great time to raise funds, when giving to those less fortunate is on people’s minds.

Create Change’s principal fundraiser, Shannen O’Brian knows how difficult raising money can be. Shannen says: “Don’t be afraid to ask, and be direct about it. Ask for an amount you think is appropriate. A general tactic I use is to ensure I have donated something myself to the project, even if it is a token amount. Then you can say, ‘I am asking you to join me to support 10 girls in Africa attend school by donating (amount here).’ If you approach the subject without apologies and general concern, people generally are willing to give something. Even if they give less than what you asked for, I consider any donation a success!”
