These ten girls have been fortunate enough to receive support to attend high school. But school fees must again be paid in September. Support this project to ensure these ten bright young ladies are able to continue on their journey of empowerment and independence.

The Story of this Project...
The girls you see below have struggled their whole life to get an education, and now is the defining moment in their lives: whether they will continue on to have the chance to graduate, or to drop out and most likely to be forced into marriage.
These ten girls are painfully aware of the impact their staying in school this year will have on the rest of their lives.

Pagnaa Secondary High School Girls
Fadila has almost dropped out of school several times. Her mother sells baked goods, but Fadila's father doesn't work as he can't walk because of a sickness. The family often finds it hard to find food, let alone money for school fees. |
Fakihatu's parents both trade goods in the market, but cannot afford their children's school fees. An uncle paid for Fakihatu's brothers' education, but he won't do the same for Fakihatu because she is a girl. She hopes to continue in school so she can have a career.

Innah comes from a rural village, where her father lives with his 5 wives and 29 children. Innah relies on her mother to help her through school, but her mother fell sick, leaving Innah with no one to turn to. Innah hopes to become a journalist. |
Kanitati is from a family of 13, and with so many children her parents don't have enough to pay her school fees. A good-hearted person, Kanitati hopes to become a nurse because she wants to help people to be well. |
Laila lost her father to sickness two years ago, and her mother cannot help her because she is unemployed. Her brother does his best to help Laila with things like shoes and soap, but school fees are too great a cost. Laila hopes to become a lawyer. |
Nasara life was turned upside down when her father had an accident, affecting his ability to work. The family has been saving for an operation, making them unable to help Nasara with her school fees. Nasara dreams of becoming a journalist. |
Nina is from a rural village, and is the only girl in her family. Her parents do not earn enough to put their children through school, so Nina worries she will have to drop out at some point, only to be forced to marry. Nina hopes instead to have a career as a journalist. |
Rahina has lost two siblings and a father to disease, and now dreams of becoming a nurse to help others who are sick. With a mother who cannot make enough in the market to pay for fees, Rahina needs assistance. |
Wasila lost her mother when she was only 11. Her father has 13 children, and wants to send all his children to school, but cannot afford to. Wasila's older sister tries to help, but the family has not been able to save enough for her school fees. |
Sajida has always struggled to stay in school. With five children to feed from a small plot of land they farm, Sajida's father struggles to support her through school. She hopes to succeed in school so she can become a journalist. |
