The Story of this Project...

The Maynooth Grads & Friends: has decided to come forward to change the lives of twelve teenage girls in Northern Ghana. The girls are all attending one of the most reputable government high school in the northern region of the country. Given that they are from disadvantaged backgrounds this in itself is an achievement and show the motivation to further their education that these girls possess.
Motivation however is not enough and each of these girls are regularly faced with the prospect of having to drop out of school because of the financial burden which school places on their families. In addition to the basic educational supplies such as textbooks and practical supplies they have to pay school fees and exam fees which are often beyond the meager means of their rural families.
By standing behind these girls and pledging to support their education The Maynooth Grads & Friends has set in motion a change that will continue far into the future. These girls now have a chance to fulfill their potential...to go on to become young female professionals such as health workers, teachers and lawyers. They will break through the stereotype for women in the North of Ghana and will become future leaders and role models in their communities and country.
The money raised in this project will go towards the girls school fees, as well as toward the provision of educational materials such as text books, uniforms and provisions for the boarding students.
Join The Maynooth Grads & Friends today in assisting these girls fulfill their potential by donating to this project.
