Sikena Awadu is an 8 year old girl living in Northern Ghana.
Medical complications when she was a young child resulted in Sikena losing the lower parts of both of her legs, her left hand and 3 fingers on her right hand. Despite this Sikena has shown remarkable strength and courage and is attempting to live a normal life with her family.

The Story of this Project...
Sikena needs to attend a prosthetic clinic in the south of Ghana where she will be fitted with prosthetic limbs. Here she will learn how to use her new limbs so that she can stand again and someday soon begin to walk again. This process may take some months and during this time Sikena and her grandmother who will accompany her will have to remain at the clinic
Sikena's father is holding down a job with a local company but due to financial problems doesn't receive a steady salary. Indeed he maintains that he hasn't been paid regularly in over a year. He is worried about how to support Sikena and his mother when they go on their trip to the clinic. They will need to pay for accommodation and food for the duration of Sikena's stay.
Create Change hopes to support Sikena and her family as they face into this difficult financial period. By assisting her family with the rent for their accommodation and contributing to their supplies budget for the trip Create Change will ease the financial burden on the family and ensures that Sikena gets to attend the clinic and get the prosthetic limbs she so desperately needs in order to lead a normal happy life in northern Ghana.
