The Story of this Project...

Like anywhere else, it is difficult in Ghana to find a career with out any tertiary education. While a high school education will enable a girl to make informed decisions for herself, it will not provide her with a career. Once girls graduate, many find themselves lying in the house with nothing to do, as their high school education has not provided them with job opportunities. They still do not have access to credit. They don't have further means to support their families. They don't have any finances to continue their education.

For these reasons, Create Change insists on supporting students until they are able to graduate with their first tertiary degree. Although Create Change staff will offer guidance, girls determine their own program of study, depending on their aptitudes and interests.

Forty girls are currently being supported by Create Change at the post secondary level. Some are training to become teachers and nurses, others to become accountants and managers. We have some girls getting university degrees in development, urban planning, and agricultural studies. All are on their way to obtaining a career where they can give back to their families and communities.

Join Create Change to support these young women to fulfill their dreams. 100% of your donation will go directly towards a girls' school fee, so she can continue on her journey of climbing out of poverty.
