Create Change aims to provide water and education to people who are living without. We believe that each human being, by virtue of being a human being, has the right to live a life filled with dignity, which means the right to the most basic of human needs, as listed in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Create Change also believes that each and every one of us has the ability to make a difference in the life of someone less fortunate. We want to give those living in poverty a voice to talk about what its like to live without clean drinking water or access to education, and we want to give you the opportunity to do something about it.

Transparency

Create Change believes that in today’s world, where donation dollars often get sidetracked into employee expense accounts, paying for SUV’s or sending staff to fancy conferences, transparency is of the utmost importance to operating a responsible non-profit organization. You can be sure of Create Change’s dedication to transparency in the following ways:

• Every donor can choose where his or her donations go, which means no project will be realized if our donors don’t feel it is worthy of being implemented.
• Because we film the various aspects of every project, you get to see how dollars are spent, so you can be certain that your donation goes exactly to where it is needed the most.
• Because we film our monitoring of projects through update films, you can be sure that your project is sustainable, and is making a lasting impact.
• As we have a camera constantly following staff on the ground, there is very little room for corruption.

Awareness

Create Change gives you the chance to hear directly from people living in poverty. Through our films, we give poverty a voice so that you can better understand what its like to live without basic needs like water and education. If you look at our films you’ll see very few stereotypical images of emaciated children with flies on their faces that you might be used to seeing. Rather, Create Change is committed to documenting the truth: that within every place facing extreme poverty, you will find an abundance of strong, intelligent, hard working, happy, capable people. Within our films you will see are real people with real stories, who have a chance to express their ideas and hopes.

Through these films Create Change hopes to raise awareness amongst people in developed countries regarding how little it takes to create a change in the life of someone living in poverty. We hope to create a real connection between donors and recipients and in doing so to make people realize that long lasting change can be achieved with very little effort. Grassroots

Create Change is dedicated to sustainable development at the grassroots level. We are committed to focusing on the basic needs of people living in poverty. We feel that provision of the basic needs of water and education will have a significant immediate snowball effect, to positively influence almost every other area of development including health, income levels and gender equality.

Create Change feels strongly about designing and implementing projects based on what people and communities need on an individual basis, rather than applying a standardized solution across every situation. We want to move away from using ‘workshops’ as a development tool in isolation as change will come naturally once basic needs are met. Instead, we will only use workshops in a directed fashion to increase the impact of basic needs projects, such as to teach a community how to manage a newly implemented water source.

Finally, Create Change is committed to hiring as much local staff as possible, not only to create jobs for local people where unemployment rates are high, but also because no outsider can ever have as much insight to how communities live and operate as local people themselves.

Create Change sees its mission as using film to build a real connection between donor and recipient in order to facilitate grass roots projects that provide basic needs for those without.
