Field School is located just outside of Tamale, West Africa’s fastest growing city. Located in a residential community, aptly situated only a few minutes drive from both Tamale’s town centre as well as impoverished rural communities to provide participants with access to the many sides of life that make up Northern Ghana.
The Field School facility has been built with both functionality and convenience in mind. It is uniquely designed with local knowledge and materials to create a unique look. Create Change’s team collaborated with local tradespeople to design and manufacture nearly all of the building’s furniture. The indoor/ outdoor area provides a breezy, shaded space where groups can comfortably meet and dine while avoiding the mid- afternoon heat.
The spacious living area and office is well suited to intimate workshops and can be easily configured to host larger groups. suite bathrooms. Field School is connected to municipal water and electricity but also has a backup generator and large reserve water tank.
Although Northern Ghana is among the safest regions in West Africa, all steps have been taken to ensure the safety of guests. The building itself sits within a gated compound with 24- hour security, proper exterior lighting and burglar-proof windows and doors.
Field School’s property host many local plant and flower species, and serves as an oasis especially during the long arid dry season.
