Over the past 5 years, Create Change has supported over 400 hundred students to gain valuable skills and experience that transforms youth into leaders who know how to get things done. Past participants have gone on to receive scholarships, win awards, and have helped to educate and empower dozens of girls living in extreme poverty.

Create Change Social Change Programs for youth are ideal for students who want to learn concrete skills, grow their confidence, and to get real world experience working on social justice issues.

We are pleased to announce that we are now able to offer this amazing program to students across Canada through a virtual classroom platform. All of our youth programs are offered pro-bono thanks to our generous supporters who make our work with Canadian youth possible.




Students learn a wide variety of practical skills, preparing them for any professional setting.



Students learn to embrace failure and communicate effectively, so they have the confidence to try new things.



Students apply their learning through initiatives with the goal of changing lives of girls living in poverty.



Create Change programs do not require previous volunteer or leadership experience. We are looking for students who are passionate about learning and are looking for an opportunity to acquire new skills, grow their confidence, and gain experience leading important social change.



  • The program is offered virtually and available throughout Canada via Zoom webinar and telephone conference calling.

  • To complete the requirements of each term, students must reach a basic fundraising goal based on the learning they have gained.

  • All funds raised will support programs to support girls living in poverty in Ghana with education, confidence building and leadership opportunities. Regular video updates from Ghana will be provided to participating students so they can see their impact overseas.



Term 1-3: The weekly time commitment includes a 2-hour webinar/conference call once weekly, your own team meetings, and , and assigned practice coaching. The first half of class time is dedicated to lecture and discussion. The second half of class time is dedicated to demonstration, practice, supervision, feedback, and debrief. Classes are recorded so students can easily make up missed classes.

  • Term 1- Fundraising & Marketing: Wednesday evenings, 4:30 - 6:30pm (PST) / 7:30 - 9:30 (EST)
    August 21st, 2019 - November 27th, 2019 (15 weeks)
    Students who complete this part of the program will receive a Marketing Certificate.

  • Term 2- Leadership: Wednesday evenings, 4:30 - 6:30pm (PST) / 7:30 - 9:30 (EST)
    December 4th, 2019 - March 11th, 2020 (13 weeks)
    Students who complete this part of the program will receive a Leadership Certificate.

  • Term 3- Social Change: Wednesday evenings, 4:30 - 6:30pm (PST) / 7:30 - 9:30 (EST)
    April 1st, 2020 - June 17th, 2020 (12 weeks)
    Students who complete the entire program will receive a Social Change Diploma.

Summer: Volunteer trip to Ghana (for those who complete Term 3 program objectives)
July 3rd, 2020 - July 18th, 2020 (Dates to be confirmed)
