DIRECTOR OF DONOR ENGAGEMENT

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Director of Donor Engagement will be responsible for developing implementing new strategies to acquire new donors,  and retain existing ones .  He or she will oversee a team of volunteers who will work together to meet fundraising goals from existing donors and new networks.  The Director of Donor Engagement will work to plan and implement strategies ensuring existing and prospective donors connect to Create Change’s inspiring story and impact.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Create Change’s mission, community and fundraising goals and initiatives

  • In conjunction with the Board of Directors, develop and oversee the implementation of a donor engagement strategy

  • Oversee the Donor Engagement committee, providing key leadership, mentorship, and training as required

  • Identify, research, and secure possible new donations, sponsorship opportunities and partnerships  

  • Lead a team to create and deliver in-person presentations with prospective sponsors to secure new donors

  • Lead a team to foster and deepen relationships with prospective donors at all levels

  • Create knowledgeable and professional communications to provide our donor base, addressing inquiries about programs and spending
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A seasoned fundraiser with 5-7  years of experience creating and implementing communications and fundraising strategies, plans and programs

  • Experience from professional career or with other organizations to successfully raise funds through donor solicitations

  • Strong relationship builder and collaborator

  • Experience leading a team to prioritize, multi-task, and set and achieve deadlines

  • Innovative thinker who is not afraid to think outside the box

  • Superior written, verbal and presentations skills

  • A self-starter who is able to work independently, with little supervision

  • Ability to manage and understand the needs of a variety of independent but connected stakeholder groups, including youth, corporate donors, and the general public.

  • A keen desire to collaborate with a wonderful team to work towards Create Change’s vision of introducing a 100% self sufficient model of charity in Northern Ghana that is run and led by girls
