Create Change focuses on empowering girls living in poverty, particularly in rural areas, and accessible water can have a huge impact on the outcome of a girl's life.  In Northern Ghana, women can spend the majority of their time fetching water.  If they are lucky they may have access to pipe water (perhaps a piping project implemented by Create Change!), and if not they may be fetching by a nearby watering hole.  How does lack of access of water affect their lives?  How does it particularly affect the lives of women, who in most countries are responsible for water fetching?   The photo essay below depicts a few moments of what water fetching is like for the women in Create Change's rural partner communities in Northern Ghana.
