This year, our first Youth Entrepreneurs for Africa chapter is being launched in Vancouver's North Shore Community. 2018 - 2019 FOCUS:
THE GHANA FOOD TRUCK PROJECT
The Young Entrepreneurs for Africa (YEA) initiative has the amazing goal to raise $50,000 to launch the Ghana Food Truck Project- a social enterprise to be launched in Northern Ghana. Funds will cover the purchase of the motorcycle food trucks, and to pay for the training of students, initial operation costs, and the necessary marketing to launch the food truck business.
The Ghana Food Truck Project will provide skills and business training opportunities for girls living in extreme poverty on an ongoing basis. Any profit made will be reinvested into girls’ empowerment programs run by Create Change. The Food Truck enterprise will be sustainable- for one fundraising effort it will provide ongoing training and profits for girls living in extreme poverty.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
All high school students in grades 9 - 12 attending a high school. To join the North Shore chapter, you must be attending a high school located in North or West Vancouver.

Video pen pals with girls in Ghana who will benefit from the Food Truck Project
Bi-weekly meetings that will provide you with experience managing a team, developing plans, and brainstorming strategy
Mentorship from Create Change's Founder and the chance to learn about international development.
The opportunity to take a leadership role in an exciting professional fundraising initiative, from planning to execution
A chance to meet amazing students from schools right in your community- make new lifelong friends!
A reference for university and job applications (provided after program completion)
The opportunity to be nominated and/or awarded for Create Change Youth Enterprise Awards
A passion to ignite change in the world
A desire to grow into an effective leader
An interest in learning how to use marketing to affect social change
The initiative runs from September - May (full year) or January to May (half year)
10 - 20 hours each month (including 2 mandatory Friday night meeting)
Friday night meetings will be held from 5:30-7:30pm in West Vancouver (location TBA)
We are currently accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year. The next Youth Entrepreneurs for Africa program launch is September/October, 2018.
