Students who have completed Create Change’s Social Change Diploma are eligible to participate in an 18 day volunteer trip at its operation in Tamale, Northern Ghana. Students will travel with an experienced professional, and will work side-by-side Create Change staff to implement its programs in the areas of Girls Education, Rural Community Development, and Social Enterprise.

Through this program students will gain first hand experience working in international development, where they will solidify their skills as they put their learning from Create Change’s Social Change diploma to use.

Students have the opportunity to work in collaboration with Create Change staff, and the hundreds of young women who participate in Create Change programs. Throughout the trip, students get to personally witness the impact of their efforts are having on girls' leadership and people living in extreme poverty.

location

Field School is located just outside of Tamale, West Africa’s fastest growing city. Located in a residential community, aptly situated only a few minutes drive from both Tamale’s town centre as well as impoverished rural communities to provide participants with access to the many sides of life that make up Northern Ghana.

design

The Field School facility has been built with both functionality and convenience in mind.  Field School was designed with local knowledge and materials to create a unique look. It is simple and modern, and incorporates many traditional African elements.

the grounds

The grounds also boast several comfortable outdoor spaces, including an outdoor eating area, as well as outdoor spaces that can be used as both collaboration spaces or areas for people to find solitude and reflect.

amenities

To offer guests as much comfort as possible, Field School is connected to municipal water and electricity but also has a backup generator and large reserve water tank so we can provide consistent water and electricity.
